Install DTCafe POS on your counter PC

One installer for Windows. Billing, tables, waiter phones and the kitchen screen work straight away on the free plan, with or without internet.

Installation, step by step

  1. Download and run the installer

    Open the downloaded DTCafe-POS-Setup file. It installs in a few seconds and opens the app by itself. It adds a desktop shortcut and a Start menu entry.

  2. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”

    The installer isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn about it. Click More info, then Run anyway.

  3. Allow network access

    On first start, Windows Firewall may ask whether DTCafe POS can use the network. Tick Private networks and click Allow. Waiter phones and the kitchen screen connect to the counter PC this way.

  4. Set up your café

    Enter your café name and create the owner account. The app then shows a recovery code once: write it down and keep it away from the counter. It is the only way to reset a forgotten admin password.

  5. Add your menu, tables and staff

    Use Menu for items and prices (photos are shrunk automatically), Tables for your tables, and Staff to give each waiter, kitchen and bar person their own login.

  6. Connect phones and the kitchen screen

    Put the phones or kitchen tablet on the same Wi-Fi as the PC. In the app open Settings → Phones & kitchen and scan the QR code shown there with each device.

  7. Activate Premium (optional)

    Create an account on this website and chat with us. After payment you get a claim code in the chat. In the app open Settings → Plan & licence, type the code and press Activate. Your shop name, the online dashboard and table QR ordering switch on at once.

Updating and moving PCs

To update, download the new version and run it over the old one: your bills, menu and staff stay. To move to a new PC, save a backup in Settings → Backup & data, restore it on the new PC, then message us in chat so we move your licence.
